Many doctors and dermatologists would suggest avoiding microblading in pregnancy, as there isn’t enough research to determine its safety.

Since microblading involves creating little cuts and depositing pigment into the skin, there are risks associated with the procedure, including the risks of infection, pain, and inflammation. Pregnancy is a time when the immune system is weaker, so there may be a greater risk of infection.

Because it’s unknown how much, if any, of the chemical pigment deposited during microblading enters the bloodstream or placenta, we can’t draw any conclusions as to whether or not that pigment can impact the baby. So if this cosmetic procedure is something you’re interested in doing, it’s best to first speak with your doctor.
