Getting braces or aligners, or continuing with braces or aligners, during pregnancy is safe.

There are some small changes in dental health and your gums during pregnancy, so let your orthodontist know that you’re pregnant. Sometimes, visit frequency increases slightly during pregnancy to ensure the plan your orthodontist implemented is working well. Pregnant people can also have a little more discomfort with braces than non-pregnant people.

If you have braces or aligners already make sure you maintain good dental hygiene throughout your pregnancy.
